Monza Revival Delivers a Memorable Celebration of Historic Racing at the Temple of Speed

The Monza Revival marked another spectacular chapter in the 2026 Masters Historic Racing season as competitors gathered at the legendary Temple of Speed for a weekend packed with close battles, iconic machinery and unforgettable racing. Across two action-filled days, Monza once again showcased why it remains one of the world's most celebrated motorsport venues, with thrilling contests across every Masters category and an atmosphere worthy of its rich racing heritage.

Masters Racing Legends delivered two dramatic Formula One races featuring legendary Grand Prix machinery from the 1970s and 1980s. Werner d'Ansembourg claimed victory in a thrilling four-way battle in Race 1 aboard his Williams FW07C, while Mike Cantillon emerged victorious in a dramatic, shortened second encounter.

Masters Endurance Legends produced another outstanding weekend of prototype and GT racing. Matteo Ferrer-Aza and Alexander Muller dominated the opening two races in their Dallara Corvette C7.R Daytona, while Karl Pedraza and Thomas Laurent rounded off the weekend with a commanding lights-to-flag victory in the final race aboard their Ligier JSP320.

Masters Sports Car Legends brought endurance racing's golden era roaring back to Monza, with John Spiers and Nigel Greensall completing a perfect weekend in their McLaren M1B. The duo fought through the field to win Race 1 before securing a second victory on Sunday after another thrilling battle with the Lola T296 of James Claridge and Gonçalo Gomes.

The Masters Gentlemen Drivers and Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars race delivered strategy, drama and a late twist, as Jeremy Cottingham and James Littlejohn took overall victory in their Daytona Cobra in Gentleman Drivers after previous leaders John Spiers and Nigel Greensall had to take a drive-through penalty. Alan and Geoffrey Letts wrapped up their impressive season in the same vein by claiming Pre-66 Touring Cars honours in their Ford Lotus Cortina.

The Masters Demo Legends programme once again proved to be one of the highlights of the weekend, with an exceptional collection of Formula One cars from the late 1970s through to the early 1990s returning to the Monza circuit. Seven historic Grand Prix machines representing five different constructors delighted spectators across two demonstration sessions. We were pleased to welcome bright, young talent, Charlie Webb to the track in a Tyrrell 011 - he was joined by Tom Bradshaw having his first run in a historic Formula One since his victory at the Brands Hatch Masters Festival in May. The non-competitive sessions offered fans another unforgettable opportunity to experience the sound, speed and spectacle of Formula One's golden eras.
