National Motor Museum Facing Closure

It's Official. The UK's official National Motor Museum established 74 years ago by The 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu is looking for a new home. Moving some 285 vehicles, plus everything else, is not going to be easy. So are we seeing permanent closure? No reason is given, except 'to safeguard its future'. Hmm. What with the desire/ demand for increased housing, one can only speculate. More to follow soon.

It seems the future of the Museum centres on an application made for a National Lottery grant that has been refused. Also the Museum, although a major contributor to the Estate, is coming towards the end of its sixty year lease that expires in 2032. Rumour is, that it will not be extended.
