Where can you go to enjoy 150 world-class vintage automobiles and motorcycles on display, gourmet food, beverages and adult libations, seminars by automotive industry experts ……… the Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance, Beverly Hills.

On 1 May I had the privilege of attending the 2011 Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance with my 1953 Nash Healey Le Mans Coupe. This was the 2nd annual event at Greystone Mansion, held in conjunction with The Friends of Greystone, and a portion of the proceeds goes towards the ongoing preservation of the Estate. Greystone Mansion, built in 1928, is listed in the National Register of Historical Places and has featured in many famous movies including: What Women Want, Spider Man, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and The Big Lebowski.

Vintage automobiles and motorcycles began arriving early and after a quick wipe down and final detailing, cars were ready when the public arrived at 10.00am. Between 11.00am and 3.00pm a series of lectures was presented with topics such as: the present state of the collector car market, automotive photography, auto insurance and appraisals, and even one on dare-devils and stunt driving.

The Presentation and Awards Ceremony was sponsored by Tiffany & Company.
