CLASSIC CARS CHALLENGE CHINA 2017

NEWSLETTER

1 May 2017

Classic Cars Challenge China (4C) from 9-21 October 2017

Classic car enthusiasts from all over the world will gather in Beijing during early autumn 2017, when the surrounding hills are covered by the glorious red leaves of the maple trees. They will be preparing to drive their own precious vehicles from under the shadow of the Great Wall on a very special voyage of discovery, that concludes in Shanghai eleven days later.

Co-organised by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the Classic Vehicle Union of China (CVUC) this, the seventh running of 4C, is more than just a motoring holiday. It is, in fact, the only international competition for classic cars in China.

Naturally, ample time is set aside for sight-seeing in Beijing, Dongying, Nanjing and Shanghai. But, at the same time, crews will be competing for awards in the regularity competition, run to rules approved by CVUC's international partner, the Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens (FIVA). The average speeds, however, are low in deference to older cars, comprehensive road books simplify navigation, and only high-quality roads are used.

This is the first in a series of newsletters about 4C 2017. As more information becomes available this will be passed on through Retro-Speed Magazine. In the meantime, the organising team, headed by enthusiast Mr. Guian Zong, looks forward to welcoming you in Beijing later this year.
